Browsers can't turn on the microphone until you interact with the page. Tap the green button when it appears, then choose Allowin the browser's own microphone dialog (VoiceOver and TalkBack read that dialog like any other app). You can always use the red Start Workoutbutton without saying “start”.

Why might I need to touch twice?

With TalkBack or VoiceOver, one touch moves focus so the control is announced; a double-tap (or equivalent gesture) actually activates it. That first interaction also unlocks spoken hints in many browsers. Spoken audio on first paint may be blocked; this page retries after your first touch.
